Jozef Beres won the Star Rally Historic

The fourth edition of the Star Rally Historic was held in terms of the 41st Barum Czech Rally Zlin. It was won by Jozef Beres with an Audi Quattro. He got to the first place after his son retired.

The award ceremony on the finish ramp in front of the Big Cinema was attended by 21 crews out of 36 original teams. Among the cars that made it to the finish were for example Skoda 130 RS, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo IIPeugeot 205 GTI or Mercedes Benz SLC 500. “Both the spectators and drivers of the Star Rally Historic are satisfied in general. Our efforts have resulted into an excellent experience for all sides, which is a great reward for us. The hot weather affected both the crews and cars. In total 21 out of 36 crews got into the finish,“ said Antonin Smazinka, clerk of the course of the Star Rally Historic.

The 10-member committee watched the Star Rally Historic crews at stages both on Friday and Saturday and evaluated both their ride and the show they provided to the spectators. The committee awarded the most votes to Jozef Beres jr. However, he retired and the victory went to his father. “I’m glad that my son and I could entertain the spectators. We’re now looking forward to the next edition,“ said Jozef Beres sr.
